Some people gave up their quant pursuit after buying and reading first volume of Shreve?
More MFE programs use only first book than those use only both books?

It would be weird if Volume II is more popular.

Also, looking at the list, it is very representative of the audience we have here as the books are mostly for people getting into MFE programs and those interview for quant positions.

Oh, I would imagine that people buy the two as a set.
Although they cover rather different things :)

Andy - thank you, this is actually flattering.

I may have missed it - how was the list put together and the order decided?

Nice thread, Andy!

This compiled list of best selling books seems reasonable to me. After all, among the top 10, I bought 7 of them for self-study, which are 1,2,4,5,7,8,10; For the rest 15, I have only 3.

In fact the primer book and its solutions from Dr. Dan Stefanica are the recommended text books for one of the courses I am taking now this spring--Financial Mathematics.

The 2010 end-of-year report is downloaded from our account on Amazon. Ranking is ordered by number of each title sold.
Will keep this an annual tradition.

A big thanks to all of our members and readers who purchased books (among others) via some of our affiliate Amazon links. Those extra pennies help to pay for our server cost.

I have gotten Derman's My Life as a Quant and I'm really enjoying it. Seems to be really a fantastic book.
