BREXIT just happened, thoughts on consequences?

It was all bollocks and bravado. The litmus test is when Britain invokes Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty and formally initiates withdrawal proceedings. What Germany and France are saying is, "Start the formal proceedings or shut up. And if you leave, good riddance."
Northern Ireland and Scotland voted to stay in.

The leave group do not seem to have a strategy.

These people have been belittled for decades, they just won, and there was a political reason for it that isn't likely to change anytime soon... if you want to keep betting on the EU, do it at your own peril.

#Nexit and #Dexit are next

So, you are blaming EU for class inequality? How novel! The problems stated long before 1974.
#NExit not going to happen any time soon (I live in NL).

"DD made a good point, stating that the most equal division of wealth in the rich world is to be found in Japan and Germany (after tax and redistribution), i.e. in Nation States whose ruling class power was destroyed in WWII. Unsurprisingly, the ruling classes of the Nation State victors of WWII have the worst inequalities of wealth and power."

So, EU is forcing high wages on Britons?

No more than in Greece or Portugal.

"Anglo-American capitalism" = deindustrialization + parasitical activities like finance, speculation and privatization on steroids. A small fraction of 1% making out like bandits, the top 10% or 15% keeping their heads above water, and the rest becoming lumpenproles. Thus both US and UK want free trade areas and "free trade" treaties (like TTP and TTIP) as these benefit that fraction of the top 1%. Thus the UK has worked consistently to push the EU in the direction of a free trade area (like the now-defunct EFTA used to be).

US, UK, and EU = Saruman, Grima, and Rohan.
