You can request Baruch to provide you a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the course.

As I understand it, in this class you basically just work with your TA, so would the recommendation letter be from your TA given the online nature or would it be written by the professor? If it is the TA, is that appropriate for MFE programs?

Baruch will provide a general letter of completion, upon request.

In terms of a separate letter from your TA — that's discretionary and up to your TA to decide on a case by case basis, upon completion. It is likely only to be provided in exceptional cases. It is also worth noting that some MFE programs will not accept an LOR from a TA.

Got it, so a general letter of completion is not really the same as a letter of recommendation then right? It'll just say I got X grade more or less the same as the certificate?

That's correct. A bit more detail than the certificate.
