Hi all, I am working on my application and I a question in mind..
I am an engineering student so I don't have too much math courses in my curriculum
I didn't do well in my freshman's year and so two calculus courses that I took that year got C and D.
But then I started working hard and so there are about another 5 mathematic related courses in my transcript that are As.
So here is the problem, do I need to explain in my essay about the poor grades I got in calculus? and state that I've realized my mistake and work hard in the rest math courses, also made up with calculus?

Or would it be a sort of finding excuse for myself?

I wish I could retake those two but my university wont allow it, so I am really bothered with that two grade...

anyone with some advice?
