Hello,

I completed my UG in Information Technology last year. Currently, I'm working as a Programmer. My long term goal is to become an Analyst/Quant at Investment Bank. I'm learning Machine Learning, Data Science and programming skills. Also, I'm doing finance related MOOC's. I'm going to take CFA Level-1 in June-2018.

I'm planning to apply for MS in Operations Research and MS in Financial Engineering for fall'19. Apart from strong GRE/TOEFL score, LOR, SOP etc. what other things do you people suggest that should be on my resume and profile to make my profile strong and more tailored for Operations Research and Financial Engineering program at top US universities. Also, what are the must -have skills to become a Quant at major Investment Bank?

I hope this is not much.

Thanks

Mathematics courses that you have gone through during your UG studies. BTW what is your GRE and TOFEL scores??

I'm not sure I understand. OR or quant finance? Sure there's an overlap, but are you really doing both?

I've met plenty of pde people, physicists, econometricians, mathematicians, and statisticians. I think OR is some of the most interesting stuff on the planet, but aside from portfolio optimization, power market scheduling, and muni pre-re defeasance analysis, I haven't seen all that many real OR applications.
