Russian Goldman Sachs quant. Now of course, I'm going to ask him about his background and we'll probably exchange stories of coming to America.

It's not an official phone interview, but he knows that GS is my number one employment destination.

So far, my plan is to speak with a smile, ask about his story and experiences, and for the most part, let him do the talking, since in Jim Cramer's words " know nothing!" and have everything to learn.

From your perspectives, are there any types of questions you would expect to hear from an aspirant quant that I should ask?

Thanks a lot.

If it's not a job (phone or in person) interview, then don't worry about "asking the right questions." Ask the questions you care about. Use the opportunity to find out about both the industry, and, more importantly, what people there do, exactly, on a day-to-day basis.

Don't ask him for a job.
