I'm a prospective MFE student and a rising junior at a business school. I recently started to look into summer internships. A lot of internship programs mentioned here are more geared towards MFE/PhD students and not quite accessible to an undergrad junior. Even though I've been adding Math/CS courses to my workload, I haven't had a chance to take/work with things like numerical analysis, stochastic calculus, PDE which are important to quant/risk management positions (even as an intern).
A lot of my classmates just pursue a regular finance path (financial reports, stock picking related stuff) and they intern at banks but the work is not very quantitative. What're some of the internship opportunities that you guys might know of that's finance related, quantitative and accessible to undergrad? I'm personally looking at some economic/financial consulting firms (Analysis Group, Charles River Associates, NERA Economic consulting) Their finance group does some work with derivative pricing and run statistical analysis. So, this might be a good idea?
