C++ Programming for Financial Engineering

C++ Programming for Financial Engineering

My TA has been very supportive during my course. He always respond to my messages and questions very quickly.

The overall quality of the course is high and worth the money.
The course is very good for MFE participants especially in providing a well organized C++ lectures. Before the course, I have used C++ during my internship but I don't have a true understanding of the language and spend a lot of time in figuring out problems that should be easy to find if the course had been taken.

As for my TA, I have to say that he is one of the best guys that I have met who tries to help me and answer every one of my questions and give me suggestions, I will definitely give all my thanks to him for such a good experience with him.
I think the course is really fantastic. The material is good and I can always find answers in the corresponding threads. APalley also helped me a lot.
I think the course is very good and it will prepare us for some programs with an requirement of C++ skills.

The TA is very patient and cheerful.I appreciate their help a lot.
This is generally an intensive c++ course with a wide coverage of the scope. It requires time and energy devotion, but helps me strengthen my programming background. The TA is helpful and the discussion in the forum is great as well.
First of all, the course really helps me to learn many things about programming and its use in computational finance.

Besides, my TA and professor have provided many helps to my study. Once I met some difficulties in homework or code, I can get a solution on threads as soon as possible, which saved me a lot of effort and time.

Really thanks!
This course is really rewarding. I got a relatively comprehensive view about C++ and OOP going through the levels. The contents are arranged in a step-by-step way so that it would not be overwhelming for even total beginner as myself. Also there are adequate challenges to keep me engaged. Besides, I am very grateful to my TA's timely responses to all my questions. Anyway a lot of fun to go through the course, and I believe the certificate would be conducive to applying for MFE programmes.
Avi and Pavlos are so nice and patient in solving problems. Benefit a lot from the forum. Professor Duffy's teaching is also very clear. Refresh my knowledge of C++.
Personally, I found course structure and content focus on deep understanding of the basics of C++ programming in real world applications. I was suprised with the detail of feedback provided by my TA on the assignments. Even though good content maybe found in books for self study, the assignments and feedback would be the most important reason i would recommend this to someone else. I also dont believe this course is for everyone, one should have a certain amount of aptitude and interest in programming to be able to finish it. I have about 2 years of programming experience in Excel-VBA/SAS(without a computer science background) and i consider myself to be a good programmer in my field. And I found the course to be doable but definitely not easy. At my stage it was big value add.
The course is of really high quality and a good start of professional C++ programming for both new programmers and programmers of other languages. With the help of amazing TAs and other hardworking community fellow members, the forum is the most useful in this course as well as professor Duffy's videos. The most valuable thing of this course, I think, is the idea of program designing like a real profession, which means to be generic programming. The ideas and the experience is the most precious and the final level of the course really make you practice with it.

My TA, Avi Palley is of tremendous help for example that his comments about my programs were of great value to me that I knew that what's the problem with my programming designs. Thanks to you all! Since I can still post threads on the forum, I'll try to reply and answer other community members as they did before where I used to be benefited from.
Suggestion:
Honestly I think the course design and the online forum are both great. The way to make this course better may depend on how the students use this resources we've got. As far as I'm concerned, everything is just perfectly fine about the course.
I would recommend anyone interested in learning C++ to take this course.

The course builds up the essential programming knowledge step by step. The lecture by Dr. Daniel Duffy is well-organized and interesting. Every important concept is explained thoroughly and great sample code is provided to help students better understand the materials. Even exercises convey imperative concepts as a supplement to the lecture. Moreover, my tutor Avi Palley always provided helpful and prompt assistance and was always patient with all my questions.

Love this course. It is inspiring, making me dig deeper into programming.
The quality of the course is overall good. However, as I am using a MAC, the videos sometimes do not that match my needs.

My TA Avi Palley is a really good TA. He always responds to messages and homework in a really short time. And he is always nice and patient.
It's a well designed course that could provide solid knowledge for beginners in C++ programming. TA is quite helpful with our problems.
This course is challenging while enjoyable~ Both my TA @APalley and the course director @Daniel are quite helpful throughout the course~

I highly recommend this course to those who want to start a career in quant field~!
I am so impressed by the high quality of this C++ programming course! To be honest, I have attended some other programming coursed before, but none of them could provide me such a clear demonstration for C++ knowledge in financial engineering. which I think would help me a lot in my further study in this field.

What's more, my TA is so observant and responsible! Every time I submit my HW, he would give me detailed comments as for any aspect relating to my code. Though some of them are somehow rigorous, I still cherish them as my treasure~ Thanks a lot for his support!
The courses covers a lot from C to C++, from OOP to template, from STL to Boost, I really learned a lot and hope I can continue on the advanced course.
TA respond to question very quickly and the suggestions are very helpful! This course is my first C++ course, I think it offers a very well foundation.
The course is helpful and useful for students aiming at the Financial Engineering area.

The course materials are clear and comprehensive, and the exercises are challenging.

The TAs are encouraging and responsible, especially Apalley, I appreciate all their helps.
Course is well structured, having the homeworks build on each other each module really helped solidify some of the more difficult concepts. Level 9 is quite a bit more challenging than the rest, but it's when you really see how much you've learnt. Quizzes were also helpful as they highlighted some of the finer aspects that you might not see as much in the exercises. My TA, Avi Palley, was always quick to respond to my questions, as well as marking the homework and giving feedback.
This is the first online course I have taken, I have studied C++ in my university, but it was too simple to use in practice, just wanted to eliminate illiteracy in C++. So I took this class to improve my ability in C++, I have learned much from this course, especially in level 9, introductory computational finance, this is the first time I applied C++ in pricing option. Also, when I had problem cannot solve by myself, I just asked in the forum, my TA @APalley, always replied me quickly and gave his advice, I really appreciated him for his patience.
