I agree Baruch isn't a well known name outside NYC but the MFE is making a name for itself globally as more students work outside NY. Also placing top 3 at RITC three years in a row and 2nd place in the 2013 IAFE competition helps make a name for yourself.
I agree it may be a little tough to make a direct comparison based on one statistic but isn't a little of a stretch to say Baruch isn't in the same league without even giving a reason why?
^ custom made suits in Shanghai for $130 a piece;). But for really nice suits go to the sample sales from here http://www.soifferhaskin.com/Home.aspx though you have to wait til they have a sale for men's suits. But you can get high end designer suits for <$300
Im liking the Asus Taichi and Acer Aspire S7. The series 9 is the nicest looking laptop out there though for that price you can get the series 7 i linked which has top specs.
Not bad, but it looks like the new things is going to be convertible ultrabooks in October. I was pretty set on getting this Samsung http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/laptops/NP700Z7C-S01US until I started to see whats being offered up at Computex. Now I don't know what to do!
Well I need laptop for Baruch, though my current would suffice for a few months. Interested in being able to have a tablet for personal fun use, and I high powered laptop for programming and some gaming. All new laptops including the tablet hybrids will have ivy bridge and kepler graphics.
Even more laptops are coming out now as companies refresh their lineup with ivy bridge laptops and start a rollout of the touchscreen laptops. Do you guys think I should get a new laptop now or wait til Oct or Nov to buy one of the touchscreen Windows 8 laptops?
My girlfriend showed me this from her med school forum and thought it was a good idea. It is a list that new quant students who are looking for roommates in NYC can put their name and info down. Its on Google docs so everyone can add their name. I left it open, with no invite necessary so...
For applicants you could have a section 'Courses to fulfill pre-reqs' where you list common required pre-requisites and where a non-undergraduate could take these courses. Such as through Baruch's pre-MFE or online from NetMath.
You can look up Netmath for online courses. I just completed ordinary differential equations and it was pretty good. I recommend it if you're looking to get more math. Getting a job in finance, taking more math courses, and learning C++ will make you a good candidate.
Hi Andy, couple questions about this course. Will more be covered in this course then the material usually covered in an introductory object-oriented course? When do you expect/hope for the first class to be offered? Thanks!
While I may be able to learn the material on my own, I think it looks better to an admission board to actually have the class and grade.
As for the open ac and london international, I couldn't find any of the courses I was looking for.
I am looking for math courses offered at night or on the weekend. I am looking in particular for either an ODE class or stochastic processes class. I searched all over for something but couldn't find one. Does anyone know of anything?
