Hi all,

Good day!

I am a Mechanical Engineer with an MBA (Finance) working as a QA Manager / internal management system auditor with a contracting firm. My main job responsibilities are setting up the management system process/procedures, ISO 9001 audits, training, managing the QC inspectors/Engineers in routine inspections.
I am 37 years old with over 10 years of experience in this domain and sector.
I have been trying & trying (&trying) to get a break into the finance domain without much luck. I did an MBA in Finance but landed smack into the recession in 2008 and had to take the first job that came my way.
I am considering doing the MFE program from a reputed college and find placement through campus recruitment.
Having said that, I am apprehensive about the career transition as age is not on my side.
How would my experience supplement this transition, if at all it does? Also, do I stand a chance in getting a job even if it is a starter role in this domain?

Much appreciate your honest feedback!

Thank you in advance.

Cheers.

Vinny
