Coursera Quantum Computation

Why are you interested in it? I think it looks fine as long as realise quantum computation has nothing to do with computation.

I never got far enough in college physics to take a class on quantum mechanics, something that I'm sure most people wonder about from time to time.

Well you can't do a course in quantum computation if you don't know quantum mechanics. So do quantum mechanics first.

Quantum mechanics is all about the bra and the ket. If you get the bra and the ket, you get quantum.

That's exactly the kind of thing a mathematician would say. There's more to physics than algebra..

For what it's worth, the course is fairly elementary and according to the instructor, "no knowledge of quantum mechanics is required."
