I've been told that the bank uses SAS/SQL by the recruiter but since it's not mentioned in the job description, I'm wondering if the job's not very technical. I've read somewhere that it's less technical than validation but wanted to confirm with the people of quant net. Thanks!

I work with these people daily. It’s very technical, but requires a variety of additional skill sets. Banks rely on audit to ensure that technical functions are doing a) what is required by internal policy and procedure and b) what is required by regulators. Thus, technical auditors need to develope a comprehensive understanding of bank technical and governance architecture as well as a thorough command of regulatory requirements, especially where model risk (Basel, Volcker, SR11-7, SR15-15) are concerned.

PM me if you want to know more.
