MFE program at Baruch / other master programs in quant finance in NYC

Any tips/recs for a prospective mfe applicant? I am planning on taking a year long certificate program in quantitative finance to help me prepare for a masters in quantitative finance, as I don’t have much advanced math and coding experience.

I was wondering during the year I take the certificate program, what I could do in the mean time to help my fall 2025 application?
I really want to get in as it as an amazing program and in NYC which has been a dream city for me.

Also, if there’s any alumni/current students in the mfe program, I would love any insight on your application process and the experience in the program.
