Hi all. I think I'm in need of a profile evaluation. I'm considering (in no particular order)

- NYU Courant MF
- Columbia MFE
- Baruch College MFE

Undergraduate: University of Toronto, Math and Physics Specialist, GPA 3.48/4
Master's in Physics, University of Toronto, GPA 3.66/4
Master's in Mathematics, McGill University, GPA 3.91/4 (will be done at the end of the term)

GRE (taken today)
Quant: 165
Verbal: 170

Taken a bunch of graduate math courses (A's across the board): PDEs, Real Analysis, Advanced Prob (getting up to Brownian motion and stochastic integration), Algebraic Topology

Master's thesis involves the study of a nonlinear transport equation. There has been some standard modeling in MATLAB. I also know C/C++ from my time as an engineering student in undergrad, but have not used it recently.

No real finance experience, beyond reading Hull and currently auditing a course on math finance at McGill.

Was also considering doing a PhD at Toronto, probably involving stochastic pde's.

Thanks for your help!

You are a very strong candidate and so long as you have a good response to the "Why MFE?" question, you should not have much of a problem getting into those schools.

BTW, how the hell do you get a 165 Q and 170 V??? What was your writing score?
