Hello all,

I am in the process of asking for recommendations. So I am wondering whether the FE programs would want more letters from math/CS professors or finance/econ professors? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Math!
(But if your recommendations would be far better from the finance professor, by all means get it from them, especially if the class that they taught was less "soft".)

None of the above. MFE programs want recommendation letters from professors you have at least quasi-personal relationships with. All other applicants will have the stereotypical "student X got an A in my class and is the smartest person I've ever met in my life, and I've met Einstein" recommendation letters as well. At that point it doesn't really matter who the letter is from or what they teach - it will get you only up to par with the other 90% of applicants that get rejected from top MFEs. If you want to get beyond that hump with recommendation letters, find professors who really know you that will convey their excitement about you. Even if they teach Comp Lit.
